New Mexico Youth Rugby thrives thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteer committees. Each committee plays a vital role in advancing our mission, from player safety to fundraising and community outreach. Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is the guiding force behind New Mexico Youth Rugby, composed of the President of the Board and can also include either the Vice President or the Secretary. Additionally, all committee heads serve as part of this committee, ensuring that each aspect of our organization is represented. This team collaborates to set the strategic direction, oversee operations, and drive the mission of NMYR forward. The President of the Board serves as the Executive Officer.

 

Travel Committee

The Travel Committee is responsible for organizing and overseeing all travel-related activities for NMYR teams. It comprises the Travel Director (Chair), the President of the Board, and the Performance Development Manager (PDM). This committee ensures safe, efficient, and well-coordinated travel arrangements for all our athletes.

Performance Development Committee

The Performance Development Committee focuses on enhancing the skills and performance of our players. It is led by the Performance Development Manager (Chair) and includes the Youth Development Officers (YDOs). Together, they work to implement training programs and development strategies to elevate the level of play across the organization.

Competition Committee

The Competition Committee oversees the planning and execution of all competitive events within NMYR. Chaired by the Vice President of the Board, this committee includes additional members as needed to ensure the smooth operation of matches, tournaments, and leagues.

Media Relations Committee

The Media Relations Committee manages NMYR’s public image and communication efforts. Led by the Media Relations Chair, this committee works to promote our events, achievements, and news across various media platforms. Additional members may join to assist with these efforts.

Parent Outreach Committee

The Parent Outreach Committee is dedicated to fostering strong relationships between NMYR and the parents of our athletes. Chaired by the Parent Outreach Chair, this committee actively engages parents, providing them with the information and support they need to be involved in their children's rugby experience.

Player Safety Committee

The Player Safety Committee ensures the well-being of all NMYR participants by implementing and overseeing safety protocols. The Player Safety Chair leads this committee, which includes additional members as needed to maintain a safe playing environment for everyone involved.

Sponsorship and Fundraising Committee

The Sponsorship and Fundraising Committee is tasked with securing financial support for NMYR through sponsorships and fundraising initiatives. Chaired by the Sponsorship and Fundraising Chair, this committee works to generate the resources necessary to sustain and grow our programs.

Discipline Committee

The Discipline Committee is responsible for upholding the standards of conduct within NMYR. This committee is chaired by the Discipline Committee Chair and includes the Secretary of the Board and a representative from the Southwest Rugby Referees. They work together to review and address any disciplinary issues that arise.

Recruitment Committee

The Recruitment Committee is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract new players, coaches, and volunteers to the NMYR program. Your efforts will help ensure the program continues to grow and thrive by engaging the local community and promoting the benefits of youth rugby.
